Waiheke Island Day Trip from Auckland (with a Rental Car)
Waiheke is 40 minutes from downtown Auckland but feels like a Greek island. Take your rental car on the ferry and see it your way.

Getting there with a car
The SeaLink car ferry runs Half Moon Bay ↔ Kennedy Point every 1–2 hours. Book ahead in summer. Approx $200 return with a car + 2 adults.
Alternatively, take the fast Fullers passenger ferry from downtown and hire an e-bike on the island — but a car unlocks the whole island in a day.

Tips
- Roads are winding — small car ideal. Any Nomado economy or budget car is perfect.
