Drop-off is the quick part — here's how to make sure it goes smoothly without delay.
A clean drop-off takes about 5 minutes. Return the car on time, full of the specified fuel, and at the location in your Rental Agreement. This page walks through it all.
All our cars go out and come back with a full tank by default. Fill up less than 10 km from the depot — there are petrol stations close to both depots (19 Tironui Road, Takanini, Auckland; and 305 Marshs Road, Hornby South, Christchurch). Keep the receipt in case there's any question about the fuel level. If the tank is not full, the actual missing-fuel cost plus a $50 administration fee applies. A missing receipt alone does not trigger a charge.
Return the car to the depot rather than the airport. Both depots are around 15–20 minutes from their airport depending on traffic, and free airport transport is included. Nomado will arrange the transport method and provide return instructions before drop-off. Allow enough time for the inspection, transport and airline check-in.
We'll walk around the car together and check it against the pickup inspection sheet. Anything new gets noted. If there's no damage, you're free to go.
Normal collection and return hours are 9am–5pm. Collections or returns between 7–9am or 5–7pm require advance arrangement and cost $50 per collection or return. Other times are subject to separate agreement, availability and an agreed fee. For one-way returns between Auckland and Christchurch, return the car to the depot confirmed in your booking.
