Drop-off is the quick part — here's how to make sure it goes smoothly without delay.
A clean drop-off takes about 5 minutes. The key things are to return the car on time, with the same fuel level you picked it up at, and at the agreed location. This page walks through it all.
All our cars go out and come back with a full tank by default. Fill up within ~10 km of the depot — there are petrol stations close to all three depots (86 Second View Avenue, Beachlands; 130 Clevedon-Takanini Road, Clevedon; and 305 Marshs Road, Hornby South). Keep the receipt in case there's any question about the fuel level.
For airport returns, allow 60 minutes between car return and check-in. That covers the 5-min inspection, the 5-min shuttle to the terminal, plus airline check-in time.
We'll walk around the car together and check it against the pickup inspection sheet. Anything new gets noted. If there's no damage, you're free to go.
Email us in advance for after-hours drop-off and we'll send the key-drop instructions for your depot. For one-way returns (Auckland↔Christchurch), the receiving depot is fully briefed — just turn up.
