Travel is unpredictable. Flat tyres, dead batteries, keys locked inside the car — it happens. Every Nomado rental includes free 24/7 roadside assistance so a small inconvenience doesn't ruin your trip.
Mechanical breakdown (the car won't start, the engine warning light comes on, anything not caused by misuse). Flat tyre — we send someone to change it, or arrange a tow if needed. Flat battery — jump start or replacement. Lockout — keys locked inside, we'll get you back in. Fuel delivery — if you run dry, we'll bring you enough fuel to reach the next station (you pay for the fuel).
Damage from off-road driving, water damage from fords or flooding, misuse of the vehicle, or repeated lockouts. We'll always help, but in these cases there may be a call-out fee.
The 24/7 roadside number is printed on the rental agreement that lives in the car, and we'll text it to you at pickup. Save it in your phone before you set off — especially if you're heading into areas with patchy coverage.
Parts of the South Island West Coast, the Catlins and the far north have limited mobile coverage. Tell us your route at pickup and we'll suggest a check-in plan and a backup contact method.

Response time depends on your location. In Auckland or Christchurch, typically under 60 minutes. In remote South Island or rural areas, it can take longer — we'll give you an honest ETA on the call.
If the vehicle can't be repaired on the spot, we'll arrange a replacement car as close to your location as practical, at no additional cost to you.
