Renting a car with Nomado

Driver requirements
- Minimum age 21
- Full licence held for 12+ months
- International Driving Permit required if your licence is not in English or as required by NZTA
Insurance
- Basic insurance included — $3,000 excess
- Premium insurance available — reduces excess to $500
Payment
- 20% deposit to confirm
- Balance due 14 days before pickup
- Pay by bank transfer, Wise or credit card — relevant fees may apply
- Credit card details taken at pickup (no bond held)
Cancellations
- Free cancellation up to 30 days before pickup
- 20% fee if cancelled 14–30 days before pickup
- Full charge if cancelled less than 14 days before pickup
Fuel & road use
- Return full to full
- Recognised gravel roads permitted
- No beach driving; restricted roads apply
Vehicle rules
- No smoking in or within 3 m of the vehicle
- No pets
- Fines & infringements charged at cost + $50 admin fee
