New Zealand's rules on foreign licences are more relaxed than most countries. Here's what you actually need.
No IDP needed. Just bring your current, valid licence from home. You can drive on it for up to 12 months from the date you arrive. This covers US, UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland, South Africa and most others.
You need EITHER an International Driving Permit (IDP) issued in your home country before you fly, OR an approved English translation. Nomado accepts NZTA-approved translations from Language Line and similar services.
Original physical licence (not a photo), plus IDP or translation if applicable. Passport for ID. A credit card in the main driver's name for the bond.
